And the best motion picture goes to....

TITANIC

(crowd goes wild as I fail the class)

In seriousness the list is as follows best to worst

O' Brother Where Out There  Loved the storyline and how it was presented. Also like Greek Mythology so the references where awesome to see
The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly I am a sucker for Westerns, raised on John Wayne, but along with that is the fact that actual cinematic shots could be used instead of watching "the Duke" on screen for the whole movie
Spoorloos Never though i would like reading subtitles. As it wasnt a horror in my book it still had the suspense and how it was shown that she was kidnapped and kill was a new take.
Sherlock Jr. Loved the slap stick comedy and simplicity of it
Moonrise Kingdom While i have no complaints about the movie and the different shots like the long tracking shots and Mise en scene visually were interesting, it just seemed like another love story
End of Watch Alot more entertaining than i thought it would have been but at this position because the wrong guy died
Awara The underlining message of class warfare was interesting how it was played out. Along with seeing how other major productions from other countries
Detour It was interesting to see the references to the film noir genre but not my cup of tea
Freaks The brotherhood of group and being miss-classified as a horror is all that made the movie interesting
My Own Private Idaho To be honest fell asleep a few times during the movie and had to go back. And again never got the underlying plot.
Killer of Sheep I didnt quite get the references until class and many of the cinematographic shots were painful
Wendy and Lucy Movie just kind of annoyed me. Very cut and dry. I also am not one for politics, its all corrupt

Moonrise Kingdom Scene review

The first shot in the this sequence of shots is a long shot with the cop car with an adult leaning on it placed on the left side, windmill centered extremely far off, and the scouts sporadically spread out in the field. This shot has everything spread and is showing the scouts looking for the two main characters. The field is extremely large suggesting finding a needle in a hay stack. The Lighting and cloud cover is gray and overcast giving the feeling that the search is not going to well.
Next the father (Bill Murray) pops up and is centered in the picture as the shot becomes a mid shot with scouts off to the right and the police cars off to the left. Bill Murray looks lost and not sure what to do. The black eye is prevalent and it almost looks like he has no clue what is going reminding be of a boxer that has been hit and daised and confused.
The shot then tracks right as bill murray moves right murmuring about the batteries as the scout master and phone operator talking about Murray and how he hit his face some how in the dark last night. This again shows his wondering and aimlessly moving around while "searches" for his daughter. the shot is in-between mid to full shot with again the wind mill centered as the master and operator on the right quietly having their own conversation to me showing that murray is partly separated from the community. As normally people will just as how he got the black eye.
As the shot tracks Murray the love triangle comes into place with Murray centered in the background almost over the shoulder of the the police officer and Murray's wife. This shot shows Murray still daised and depressed and then gets on smaller motor bike bring out the childish nature of Murray's. Its like he is reverting back what he knows almost like a mid life crisis as his wife is having an affair right in front of him. as he reverts back to being child he isnt mature enough to see what is happening right in his face.

Scene in Moonrise kingdom

This is a composition is taken at 1:05:52 in Moonrise-Kingdom which might be seen from what might be a trooper’s point of view of a long shot of this far in the movie might be the head quarters of the Khaki Troop. This mise en scene is broken down into three layers. A scout is sitting in a chair off to juxtaposed to the front and right of the tent that looks to be an elder of who is being shaved by a scout. This shows that he has some importance and might be the leader. In the second layer the tent and totem pole. The tent is centered and say Command tent, presumably is the leader of the regime Tent to operate out of. Along with this is the totem pole placed behind two men giving more of an idea that these men are important suggesting that they are the “high men on the totem pole”.  The next thing that is noticed is the fence in the background showing the name Fort Lebanon in prominence. Giving the viewer the name and that the fort is more important or just overall bigger due to troop 55 not having a name shown so prominent display. Next the order and neatness of how everything is organized and with nothing out of place gives hint that the troop is very well organized and precise. The tent is centered with the name of the camp centered right above, along with the 2 lamps and towers (not that but not sure what to call them) are placed equidistant from the center giving the place a strict no nonsense feel.
